City Building, unique challenges and opportunities.
How one developer is leveraging infrastructure investments to create a 12M sqft  Commercial Hub in downtown Toronto.

City Building at a city scale presents unique challenges and opportunities.  East Harbour is a 60 acre site being master planned as a new, 12M square foot commercial hub in downtown Toronto which will eventually accommodate approximately 70,000 workers.  It will also be a retail and entertainment destination, including a full array of restaurants, cafes and cultural amenities.  The project leverages major infrastructure investments being made in the area, most importantly a multi-modal transit hub incorporating GO/RER, SmartTrack, Subway and LRT services.

Derek Goring, Vice President, Development for First Gulf who is leading the East Harbour project will be joined by George Dark, Partner, Urban Strategies Inc. and Janet Rosenberg, Principal, Janet Rosenberg & Studio who are supporting the master planning process for the project to discuss how the project was initiated, current status, and describe how things will move forward into the implementation phase.
